Workspace Assistant

Salary information: £9,516 per annum
Work pattern: 15 hours per week, Term time only (39 weeks)

We are looking for a proactive and reliable Site and Facilities Assistant to join our team. Working in an educational setting for students aged 14–19, you will play a vital role in ensuring the school building operates smoothly, safely, and efficiently.
Reporting to the Director of Workspace, you will be the first point of contact for remedial works and general maintenance. The role combines reactive duties, responding to tickets and incidents,with planned preventative maintenance to ensure the learning environment is kept to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to maintenance requests, carry out general repairs, handle plumbing emergencies, and complete painting and decorating works (scheduled during half-terms where possible).
- Assemble, move, and arrange furniture and equipment for classrooms and school events.
- Carry out weekly health and safety checks, including PAT testing, and ensure fire exits and walkways are kept clear in line with school safety policies.
- Monitor and prioritise tasks via the facilities ticket system, using initiative to identify and address issues proactively.
- Maintain a tidy, organised workspace and ensure tools and equipment are stored safely.
