PBS Lead Practitioner
Contract type: Permanent
Work pattern: 40 hours per week, Term Time + 5 Staff Training Days + 80 additional hours during school holidays (41 weeks)
Salary information: Grade 8, £39,000 - £41,765 per annum (dependent on experience)

Pield Heath House School is a non-maintained school for children & young people aged 7-19 with a range of additional severe & complex learning needs, speech & language, communication disorders & sensory processing difficulties.
We are currently looking to recruit a PBS Lead Practitioner to lead on and embed Positive Behaviour support across the school, ensuring a proactive, consistent, ethical, and person-centred in line with PBS principles. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with students, families, staff, and external professionals to promote quality of life, inclusion, attendance, emotional regulation, and positive outcomes. This role is grounded in PBS values, trauma-informed practice, and ethical behaviour support.
Key duties will include:
- Strategic Leadership
- Lead the development and evaluation of a whole-school Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) framework, ensuring consistent practice and the strategic reduction of restrictive interventions.
- Collaborative Working
- Lead multi-disciplinary coordination, acting as the key liaison between the school, external medical/therapeutic agencies, and families to ensure a unified approach to student wellbeing.
- Functional Assessment
- Conduct specialist functional assessments and design person-centred PBS plans that prioritise emotional regulation, communication, and student dignity.
- Staff Development
- Act as a lead coach and mentor, providing high-quality training and supervision to teachers and support staff to build school-wide expertise in PBS principles.
- Attendance & Inclusion
- Drive a trauma-informed culture of high attendance, working closely with families and pastoral teams to remove barriers to engagement for students with complex needs.
- Data Analysis
- Oversee robust systems for data collection and analysis, providing high-level reports to the Senior Leadership Team and Governors to demonstrate measurable impact on student outcomes.
