Music Teacher
Contract type: Part time - 2 days per week, Fixed term for 1 year
Salary information: UNQ, £10,715 - £15,780 per annum (dependent upon experience and qualifications)

About Our School
Our friendly and vibrant infant school is looking for a passionate and creative part-time Music Teacher. We believe that music builds confidence, joy, and early learning skills. Our young children love singing, moving to rhythm, and exploring simple instruments. The successful candidate will be creative, hardworking, passionate about teaching and determined to make a difference to the lives of our children. Our aim is to cultivate a community where all children can achieve happiness and enjoyment through Music.
The Role
- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate music lessons aligned with the national curriculum using games, percussion instruments, and movement.
- Adapt activities so children with special educational needs (SEND) or English as an additional language (EAL) can fully take part.
- Patient, energetic communication style; ability to use a keyboard, guitar, or percussion; strong basic classroom management.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead lively music and movement classes for reception, and infant classes.
- Introduce young pupils to pitch, rhythm, and percussion instruments.
- Plan inclusive lessons that engage every child.
- Teach an instrument to groups of Pupil Premium children (Recorder, Metallophone etc.)
What We Are Looking For
- High energy, patience, and a warm, encouraging teaching style.
- Strong skills in singing or playing a core instrument or percussion (like recorder, piano or guitar).
- Previous work with early years’ children.
- Commitment to safeguarding children (Enhanced DBS check required).
