Finance Officer

Work pattern: 40 hours per week, Term Time + 120 Hours to be Worked Across the Year + 5 Staff Training Days (42 weeks)
Salary information: Grade 6, NJC Scale Points 13 - 19; £33,484 - £36,563 actual per annum (dependent on experience)

Due to an internal promotion, we are now seeking to appoint a Finance Officer. As our new Finance Officer, you will provide financial and administrative support to all areas of the school under the direction of the Finance Manager.
We are looking for a dedicated and adaptable professional who can manage shifting priorities and work independently to deliver high-quality results. The successful candidate will take a systematic and accurate approach to their work, with a high level of attention to detail. You will ensure efficient, accurate and timely recording of all financial information ensuring that operational and compliance standards are met. You will provide an accessible and reassuring service to all members of the school community, maintaining a methodical and professional manner. You should be comfortable managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. While experience in an educational setting is welcomed, it is not essential, and we encourage applications from those with transferable skills from other sectors.
Key duties will include:
- Ensuring compliance with financial systems and processes.
- Process AP Invoices into Sage50 and gain payment authorisation.
- Prepare and process weekly Purchase Ledger BACS payments.
- Prepare and process monthly Salaries on Sage Payroll.
- Prepare and raise termly LA fee invoices and ensure prompt payment within the school’s terms.
- Liaising with stakeholders and budget holders.
