School Meals Supervisory Assistant
Contract type: Permanent
Work pattern: 7.5 hours per week, Term Time only (38 weeks)
Hours of work: 1.5 hours per day; Monday - Friday, 11.45am - 1.15pm
Salary information: Scale 1, Point 2, £4,776 per annum inclusive of Outer London Weighting

John Locke Academy is an outstanding school set in lovely surroundings with a vibrant community.
We are looking to appoint a SMSA to support children at this key time in the school day.
The successful candidate will ideally have some experience of working as an SMSA and/or LSA support in a school environment.
The ideal candidate will be caring, patient, self-motivated and be able to use their own initiative. They will have a positive attitude to behaviour management and be willing to support sensitively with any personal care needs.
You will have a passion for supporting pupils, be dedicated and reliable, be friendly, organised, willing to organise games and activities to keep the children happy and engaged on the playground. You will be willing to promote healthy eating and good table manners. We can offer you polite, energetic children and a welcoming place to work.
Some of the duties of the post will include to:
- Ensure all pupils are safe and settled at lunchtimes;
- Follow the behaviour management policies and uphold the values of the school;
- Control the entry of pupils to the dining room and their behaviour whilst they collect their meals and find a seat;
- Supervise the eating of lunch, maintain discipline, maintain the use of cutlery and drinking water, and encourage pupils to eat their meals.
The successful applicant will be patient and hardworking, who also enjoys working with children!
