School Business Manager

Work pattern: 35 hours per week, Term time only + 5 training days + 10 additional working days to be agreed with the Headteacher (41 weeks)
Salary information: SO2, £34,797 - £36,424 per annum (dependent upon experience)
Further salary information: The salary may be negotiable for the right candidate
Contract type: Temporary until August 2025 (with an opportunity to extend)
Hours of work: Monday - Friday, 8.30am - 16.30pm with 1 hour lunch

Grange Park Junior School is a welcoming three-form-entry foundation school based in the large West London town of Hayes, in the southern part of the London Borough of Hillingdon. Our school strives to become an outstanding beacon of excellence in the local community, and we are looking for someone with extensive experience in managing finance and business support within schools or similarly complex environments. 

We are looking for a School Business Manager who is excited by the prospect of working collaboratively with an ambitious and innovative Senior Leadership Team, through the next stage of the school’s journey. The school is looking for a candidate who is a role model for the school values and has high expectations in the work they undertake. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of financial management, income generation and operational experience and is keen to hold significant responsibility.

The ideal candidate will have the following:
  • Proven experience in budget management, monitoring and account reconciliation together with experience in financial management systems and audit requirements.
  • Working to deadlines.
  • Lead members of the site and finance team, making a tangible impact on the lives of young people by enhancing the support functions across the school.
  • Experience in managing health and safety together with in-depth knowledge of risk, issues, and legislation in relation to education.
  • Significant experience in managing and monitoring the effective delivery of services and service-level agreements from external sources.
  • Successful experience in the submission of bids / securing funding in the public sector
  • Experience of policy / procedure development and implementation.
  • Knowledge of Human Resources procedures and systems.
  • Experience of working in a busy school or office environment.
  • Experience of supporting partnerships with pupils, staff, parents, members of the Governing Body and the wider community.
