Literacy Subject Lead

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced SEN Teacher/Leader who can provide positive and stimulating learning experiences for our students whilst working in partnership with families and the school community. The ideal candidate will be a good team player with organisation skills and a highly structured approach that supports their ability to teach a range of subjects to our students.
The school provides a person-centred curriculum, adapted to each child and young person’s developmental and learning needs, offering a variety of educational programs designed to meet the needs of students with severe to complex learning need, communication and sensory processing difficulties, and associated behaviours.
We currently have an opportunity to lead the subject area of English / Literacy and be part of the school’s Middle Leadership Team.
We are looking for candidates who will take the lead to plan, co-ordinate and quality assure their given subject area to ensure that the subject is consistently well planned throughout the school, paying special attention to the structure, methodology and delivery of the learning experience.
In order to be successful in this role, you will have:
- Attained Qualified Teaching Status.
- Experience of working in a Special School setting with young people with a range of learning needs.
- Experience of co-ordinating, leading and quality assuring your subject area of Literacy / English as a subject leader.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills with a practical approach to engaging students.
