We are seeking a dedicated Intervention Teacher to join our dynamic and inclusive school community. This is a unique opportunity to deliver tailored interventions, collaborate with staff and parents, and shape a supportive learning environment for students who need it most.
The Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate will be passionate about education and committed to supporting the needs of all learners. You will be adaptable, patient, and enthusiastic, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
What We Are Looking For:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification (Unqualified Teachers with experience in teaching will also be considered).
- Proven experience working with students with SEND, including delivering effective interventions.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Proficiency in using data tracking software and reporting tools (Edukey and ClassCharts experience is advantageous).
- A proactive, compassionate, and collaborative approach to teaching and learning.
- Must have knowledge and teaching experience of the UK National Curriculum.
- Must be eligible to work in the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, deliver, and review tailored intervention programs for children with SEND, ensuring their needs are met.
- Liaise with the SENCo to evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and adjust strategies where necessary.
- Deliver an alternative curriculum for students on the SEND register or highlighted by the Raising Standards Lead or Pastoral Lead.
- Support the transition of vulnerable children from Year 6 to Year 7, working closely with the Primary SEND Team.
- Develop expertise in intervention strategies through CPD and collaboration with external agencies, including Speech and Language Therapy services.
- Use Edukey Provision Map to log and review interventions and generate reports.
- Assess and support EAL learners using resources from the Bell Foundation.
- Provide pastoral care, including reflection time for vulnerable students and behavior management strategies.
Desirable Skills:
- Additional SEND qualifications (e.g., Autism, Speech and Language, or Dyslexia training).
- Knowledge of EAL assessment and intervention strategies.
- Proficiency in ClassCharts and data reporting tools.
Experience:
- Proven experience working with students with SEND in a primary or secondary school setting.
- Track record of delivering and evaluating intervention programs with demonstrable student progress.
- Experience of working closely with external agencies and managing parent meetings.
- Previous involvement in transition planning for vulnerable students.
