Finance Manager
Salary information: Grade 8, 25 - 28, £39,837 - £42,661 per annum (dependent on experience)
Work pattern: 40 hours per week, Term Time Only + 5 Staff Training Days + 120 hours during school holidays (42 weeks)
Start date: March 2026 or as soon as possible
Contract type: Permanent
Due to retirement, we are seeking to appoint a Finance Manager to manage and oversee the finance functions of the school. As Finance Manager, you will be focused on the day-to-day management of the school accounts, reconciliations all audit requirements and monitoring of large project spend in addition to ensuring compliance within procurement.
Key duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Responsibility for income and expenditure
- Budgeting and forecasting
- Preparation of Management Accounts
- Liaising with stakeholders and budget holders
As Finance Manager, you will have a finance qualification or equivalent demonstrated ability and strong IT skills including the use of Finance related software. You will have a systematic approach to managing workloads especially when also dealing with competing priorities and working to deadlines. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills which you will utilise when interacting with all members of the school community, adopting a collaborative and supportive yet still professional approach. Previous experience as a direct line manager and/or working in a school environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
