Family Engagement Officer
Salary information: Grade 5, £31,156 - £33,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Work pattern: 40 hours per week, Term time only + 5 Staff Training Days + 120 Additional Hours during the School Holidays (42 weeks)
Work hours: Monday - Friday, 8am - 4pm
Contract type: Permanent

We are looking for a committed, compassionate, and proactive Family Engagement Worker to join our dedicated team at Pield Heath House School, a specialist setting for students with complex and severe learning difficulties.
In this key role, you will work closely with families to strengthen home-school relationships, support attendance and wellbeing, and help families navigate systems and services that impact their children’s lives.
What you’ll do:
- Build trusting, respectful relationships with parents and carers.
- Support families in understanding and engaging with EHCPs and support plans.
- Promote attendance and tackle persistent absence with empathy and professionalism.
- Work as part of a multi-agency team including therapists, safeguarding staff, and external professionals.
- Facilitate inclusive parent forums, workshops, and informal support opportunities.
- Champion parent voice and inclusive communication across the school.
What we’re looking for:
- Experience supporting families, ideally in an education or SEN setting.
- A strong understanding of the challenges faced by families of children with complex needs.
- A confident, empathetic communicator who can build relationships and maintain boundaries.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and family support frameworks.
- Organised, flexible and ready to take initiative in a developing role.
