Salary information: Scale 3, £11,655 - £11,822 per annum (depending on experience)
Work pattern: 17.5 hours per week, Term time only (38 weeks)
Contract type: Temporary, 1 year contract (initially)
Work hours: Monday - Friday, 2:45pm - 6:15pm
Start date: 31st March or ASAP thereafter
Hayes park School is a seeking an after-school play leader to run our new after school club provision (for up to 40 children) which will run from 3:20 – 6pm.

We are seeking a play leader to join our team and create a fun and enriching environment for our children. This part-time position offers flexibility to accommodate your family commitments with you working Monday to Friday from 2:45 – 6:15pm leading our after-school club.
We are on the lookout for someone who shares our unwavering commitment to providing exceptional care and support to children and their families and particularly welcome applications from individuals with experience and/or qualifications in Food Hygiene, Firest Aid, Safeguarding and Play Work.
We are a successful three-form entry, multi-cultural school with a Nursery and a Specialist Resource Provision (SRP) for autism. We are wonderfully resourced, with a range of IT devices for our pupils, lovely green spaces and an eco-dome.

Job Details:
As a Play Leader, you will take on a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our after-school club and your responsibilities will include:
- Daily set up and closing down of the after-school club (in terms of resources management).
- Ensuring a safe, fun, and stimulating environment for children.
- Administrative tasks including managing the booking system and daily registers.
- Leading and coordinating various activities, tailored to different age groups.
- Maintaining professionalism in interactions with children, parents, colleagues and school.
- A positive behaviour management approach and reporting in line with school procedures.
- Liaising with catering team to plan, prepare, serve and tidy away a healthy light hot meal.
- Safeguarding the well-being of all children attending our clubs.
- Provision of First Aid and management of records.
- Meeting children’s intimate care needs as necessary.
- Planning, delivering and evaluating a well-structured and progressive after school club.
- Teaching relevant skills and techniques to enhance participants’ learning.
- Evaluating and assessing sessions, maintaining records and ensuring a positive and inclusive environment.
- Completing relevant risk assessments and logs to ensure safety of participants.
- Taking appropriate steps to identify and overcome barriers to participation (specifically for pupils with additional needs).
- Attending professional development where required.
- Being a positive role model, creating a positive and engaging environment which encourages participation in physical activity.
- Directing the other staff members as appropriate.
- Adherence to relevant policies as advised by the school.
- Work with the school team to actively promote the club and communicate with parents/carers.
