Welfare Officer (Medical)
Contract type: Permanent
Location: Royal Lane, Hillingdon with adhoc cover at our Northwood Road site if required
Hours of work: Monday, Wednesday and Friday: 8:30 - 3:30 , Tuesday and Thursday: 8:30 - 4:30
Salary information: Scale 5, £29,661 - £30,985 per annum (dependent upon experience) + SSA, £1,403 per annum
Work pattern: 34.5 hours per week, Term time + 4 weeks for Extended School Provision during school holidays (43 weeks)
Start date: September 2026
Meadow High is a special school for students aged 11-19 with Moderate Learning Difficulties and additional Complexities. One of the UK’s largest secondary special schools, we have been consistently rated as a Good school. We are seeking an experienced welfare officer who is hard working and has the enthusiasm to hit the ground running and be part of a dynamic team. This role would suit someone with a positive attitude, empathetic nature and a good sense of humour, who is experienced in supporting a wide range of medical needs in a caring and supportive environment.
We wish to appoint candidates with:
- Experience of working in a school environment or a similar setting.
- Emergency first aid trained.
- School welfare / medical or clinical experience in a hospital / care home setting.
- Organised, methodical, calm, patient and caring.
- Ability to prioritise and multitask.
- Child centred approach.
