Therapy Support Worker

Work pattern: 36 hours per week, Term Time Only + 5 days (39 weeks)
Hours of work: Monday: 08:00 am - 3.30 pm, Tuesday: 08:30 am - 4:30 pm, Wednesday: 08:00 am - 3:30pm, Thursday: 08:30am - 4:30pm and Friday: 08:00 am - 3:30 pm
Salary information: Scale 3, £25,398 - £25,760 per annum (dependent upon experience) + Special Schools Allowance, £1,327 per annum
Location: Northwood Road (Harefield) with visits to Royal Lane (Hillingdon) site

We require a Therapy Support Worker to work within the Therapy Team at our new school site based in Harefield.

Due to our expanding roll and the changing needs of our students, an opportunity has arisen for a Therapy Support Worker to join our dedicated team of staff at our new Northwood Road (Harefield Village) site. Northwood Road is an additional site based in Harefield and will house up to 100 Pathway 1 pupils and will be ready for us to occupy in September 2026. We are particularly interested in people who have experience of working with young people with ASC and complex learning difficulties. 

The successful candidate will be working within an established Therapy Team. You will be working with students aged 11-19 years who have a wide variety of conditions including autistic spectrum condition, global developmental delay, specific language disorders, and respiratory, neurological and neuromuscular pathologies. 

The post provides an excellent opportunity to consolidate and/or expand your knowledge and skills, whilst contributing to the ongoing development of an effective, high-quality integrated therapy service across the school.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the implementation of therapeutic provision across a range of disciplines under the direction and supervision of registered therapists. A key feature of the role will be supporting the delivery and implementation of physiotherapy programmes and therapeutic provision across the school environment, helping to ensure that students can access consistent therapeutic support within their daily routines and educational activities.

The role will also involve supporting the delivery of speech and language and occupational therapy groups, implementing individual therapeutic programmes, and contributing to wider therapeutic initiatives designed to promote pupil engagement, participation, and independence. In addition, the post holder will assist with administrative responsibilities within the therapy department to support efficient service delivery.

The successful candidate will work closely with therapists, teaching staff and wider multidisciplinary colleagues to ensure that pupils’ therapeutic needs are embedded throughout the school day and integrated into classroom practice and the wider school environment.

The Therapy Team is responsible for integrating clinical intervention across all aspects of an educational curriculum ensuring that pupils are able to readily access and engage in learning. All therapy staff are supported by the Clinical Therapy Team Lead and by senior clinicians across the therapy disciplines.

Applicants should have:

  • 5 GCSEs or equivalent including English, Maths and Sciences. (Essential)
  • Experience of working as an  assistant in an educational/health setting. (Essential)
  • Able to take guidance and advice and act on it appropriately. (Essential)
  • Ability to use a range of techniques to support therapy interventions for students/carers and staff. (Essential)
  • Experience of working with individuals and groups of pupils. (Desirable)
  • Able to demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding pupils. (Essential)
  • Good personal organisation skills. (Essential)
  • Able to demonstrate energy, drive and enthusiasm. (Essential)
