Hours of work: Monday - Friday, 08:30am - 3:30pm
Work pattern: 32.5 hours per week; Term time + 5 training days (39 weeks)
Salary information: Scale 4, £23,592 - £24,623 per annum (dependent upon experience) + SSA, £1,198 per annum
Start date: September 2026
Meadow High School is a special needs school, which provides education for secondary aged students aged 11-19 years with moderate and complex needs including challenging behaviour and autism. The post involves working alongside teachers, supporting pupils' learning environment, supervising and supporting pupils whilst completing pre-prepared work and during play / unstructured times. Energy, physical ability and enthusiasm to work with these pupils are required. Induction and training including Signalong and Team Teach, will be given for this rewarding job, which offers the chance to progress. The school has received a good OFSTED report for the quality of the teaching.
Due to our expanding roll and the changing needs of our students, an opportunity has arisen for a Technician to join our dedicated team of staff at our new Northwood Road (Harefield Village) site. Northwood Road is an additional site based in Harefield and will house up to 100 Pathway 1 pupils and will be ready for us to occupy in September 2026.We are particularly interested in people who have experience of working with young people with ASD and complex learning difficulties.
Applicants should have:
- NVQ 3 for Teaching Assistants.
- A sound knowledge of Literacy and Numeracy.
- ICT literate - learn assessment systems and enter data.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills, with attention for detail.
- Support the health and safety training initiatives and to actively participate in this area.
- A desire for working with students with moderate and complex learning difficulties.
- Enthusiasm for supporting children and their learning.
- The ability to work well on your own and as part of a team.
- A positive attitude and sense of humour.
- A willingness to learn new skills.
- A willingness to undertake personal care of pupils.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and to follow the child protection procedures detailed in the School’s safeguarding policy.
The successful applicant must have a high standard of written and spoken English.
