Clerk to Governing Board and HR Support
Salary information: SO1, £3,621 - £3,718 per annum (depending on experience)
Work pattern: Minimum of approximately 152 hours per annum, Term time only (38 weeks)

We are seeking a committed and organised Clerk to support the work of the Botwell Catholic Primary School Governing Board. The role involves attending approximately three full board meetings and ten committee meetings annually; preparing agendas, taking minutes, and providing procedural advice; supporting governors with administrative tasks across the year (estimated 20–30 hours annually); ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and best practice guidance.
Clerk to Governing Board working hours will be predominantly during term time but there may be occasions for attendance during school holiday periods. Additional hours required for hearing panels would be paid at an hourly rate. HR Support hours would be agreed with the Business Manager and Headteacher to assist with recruitment, contract management and staff absence attendance and review meetings and would be paid at an hourly rate as and when required.
We are looking for someone who:
- Is an efficient and effective administrator.
- Is highly organised, confidentiality aware and able to keep to deadlines.
- Commands strong literacy and oral standard English language skills.
- Is able to attend early morning, daytime and evening meetings during term time.
- Is able to make regular visits to the school, sometimes at very short notice.
- Has experience in HR administration.
- Is able to attend training events.
- Is able to work flexibly, at home as well as at school with no fixed work patterns.
