Development & Progression

Thanks to a rigorously planned CPD program, which is linked to the School Improvement Plan, and delivered in partnership with its Academy Trust High School, the opportunities for professional development at this school are excellent. Mandatory INSET days are planned around set subjects such as safeguarding and performance management, in addition, the school also holds a weekly staff meeting to address any concerns or training needs which may be identified on an ad-hoc basis.

Operating a ‘team teaching’ methodology and utilising ''action research'' linked to the CPD programme in place across the borough, helps this school monitor and maintain high standards of teaching.

The Headteacher encourages NQTs who complete their statutory induction to progress in their teaching career by taking on phase leadership or subject leadership within three years of attaining QTS.
