Our staff at Breakspear are professional, enthusiastic and dedicated to supporting each child’s needs. We offer a positive, happy environment where we work together, with excellent opportunities for professional development. In June 2018 this was recognised through our Investor in People accreditation. Staff workload and well-being underpins our work.

Our recent Ofsted (Jan 2019) described the curriculum as “designed to be motivating and well matched to pupils’ needs and interests.” We aspire to become exceptional in all aspects of our work and encourage the teachers to be actively involved in further developing our pupils learning.

Ofsted also recognised that “Parents are very supportive of the school. They typically describe it as nurturing and friendly, with approachable staff. One parent said that it is ‘a super local school’. Pupils echo this and say they enjoy their learning and know that they are encouraged to do their best. The behaviour of pupils is exemplary. They are well mannered, polite, enthusiastic and articulate learners.”

All this make Breakspear an ideal school for your next career move!

If you'd like to contribute to the further development of our school, then we'd love to hear from you! For an informal conversation or to visit the school, please contact the school office.

The school is a harmonious community, adults and pupils genuinely care about each other.

We are committed to the provision of an ambitious, stimulating and broad education for all our children. We offer a happy and thriving atmosphere in which we develop our children’s differing abilities. We seek to instil a love of learning, a sense of inquiry and the ability for children to think for themselves, through high quality teaching, an exciting curriculum and a myriad of other opportunities.

We are an inclusive school, where everyone is welcomed, valued, respected and listened to. Safeguarding is paramount. We promote equal opportunities for all, so everyone can become responsible, independent and confident individuals. This approach was also recognised by Ofsted (2019) “emphasis on progress means that pupils are on track for secure age-related outcomes by the end of the academic year”.

The parents of our pupils have described the school as 'a nurturing and friendly school, with approachable staff' (Ofsted 2019). We are incredibly pleased the positive recognition, as this re-affirms our schools hard work, in providing the best environment for our children to succeed.
