McMillan Early Childhood Centre is an inclusive nursery school, where all cultures and religious beliefs are valued and respected, and equality and fairness is positively promoted.

Our skilled team of dedicated professionals put children and their needs at the forefront of our provision. Thus, we offer our staff with a beautiful working environment, an extensive outdoor provision and outstanding leadership and management team. The Centre's ''very effective leadership of teaching and monitoring of staff performance have secured improvements to teaching in the childcare provision and maintained children’s excellent achievement'' - Ofsted 2012.

We welcome those individuals who are relaxed and motivated, informed about the best practice and know the children, their needs and starting points. Visits to our Centre are strongly encouraged.

This is an outstanding school. Senior leaders, members of the governing body and staff successfully drive lasting enhancements to the quality of the school’s work.

Ofsted 2012

All needs met for children under 5 years in one place.

McMillan Early Childhood Centre is larger than an average-sized maintained nursery school. We provide free nursery education with 12 places for children aged three to four years and 18 childcare places for children under three years. Our nursery received Early Excellence status by the government in October 2001.

We aim to provide our children and families with the best possible start in life together. We believe this can only happen when we work with families to provide a range of services to meet their individual needs.

A wide range of activities is provided for families with children under the age of 5 and Antenatal groups. Breakfast and tea-time clubs are run as part of our childcare provision as well! Therefore, we pride ourselves in providing education, care, flexibility, family advice & support to young children and their families.
