The school aims to enable all pupils to achieve to their highest potential in a supportive setting with small classes and specialist input. It seeks to value and treat each pupil as an individual and to ensure they flourish within a Christian community. Its objective is to prepare pupils fully for life after school, including due emphasis on academic subjects and examinations, but also by supporting their all-round personal development so that they can enter the adult world with well-justified confidence and effective life-skills.

Egerton Rothesay is a non-selective school in Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire, with a mainstream curriculum catering for children from 6-19 years. We provide the necessary support to access this curriculum for pupils who need specialist input within school because of a specific educational need – such as dyslexia, dyspraxia, speech and language needs or an autistic spectrum condition.
We believe that learning should be focused on the individual and should be about preparing each child for life after school not just exams. As part of this we have a Sixth Form where pupils can have additional time for qualification in a supportive environment before college or work, with a wide range of vocational and academic courses.
ERS delivers a broad education and we provide pupils with a range of individually tailored strategies to support their learning needs and development. This means a unique and relevant education for each student. Our education promotes life skills and social skills to help make the next transition – whether to our Sixth Form or to college – and to prepare pupils for everyday life.
