Welfare Officer

Salary information: Grade G04, point 13, £9,244 per annum
Work pattern: 13.5 hours per week, Term time only (39 weeks)
Work hours: Monday, Tuesday and Friday, 9:00am - 1:30pm
Contract type: Permaenent
Start date: September 2025

The Headteacher and Governors are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, caring and compassionate person to join our Welfare Team.  We are seeking a candidate who considers themselves an able multi-tasker and who is confident and considerate when dealing with children and adults who are unwell or need medical attention.

Cannon Lane Primary is a popular 4-form intake school in Pinner, Harrow. We have an excellent reputation within the local community and are committed to ensuring that our children and our staff are happy, safe and successful.

The ideal applicant will:

  • Have experience of working in a school environment.
  • Hold a current First Aid certificate.
  • Be committed to looking after children’s welfare and wellbeing.
  • Have the ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with a wide range of people.
  • Have good language and communication skills.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Administering first aid and welfare duties for children and staff.
  • Communicating effectively with parents and school staff.
  • Management of medicines on school site and the administration of these.
  • Arranging appropriate school welfare training.
  • Maintain medical records and reporting where needed.
  • Monitoring, ordering and distribution of school resources.
