Welfare Officer - Attendance

Work pattern: 34.5 hours per week, Term time + 4 weeks Extended School Provision during school holidays (43 weeks) 
Hours of work: Monday, Wednesday and Friday: 8:30am - 3:30pm, Tuesday and Thursday: 8.30am - 4.30pm (30 minute unpaid lunch break)
Salary information: Scale 5, £27,380 - £28,663 per annum (dependent upon experience)

Start date: September 2024

Meadow High is a special school for students aged 11-19 with Moderate Learning Difficulties and additional Complexities. One of the UK’s largest secondary special schools, we have been consistently rated as a Good school. The school holds a number of national awards including the SEN Specialist Schools Award, the Inclusion Quality Mark Award and the International School Award.

We are seeking an experienced attendance officer who is hard working and has the enthusiasm to hit the ground running and be part of a dynamic team. This role would suit someone with a positive attitude, empathetic nature and a good sense of humour. 

We wish to appoint candidates with:
  • Experience of working in a school environment.
  • Experience in managing attendance.
  • Experience with SIMS.
  • To have good numeracy and literacy skills, including GCSEs in English and Maths or equivalent qualifications to a grade C or above. 
  • Organised, methodical, calm, patient and caring.
  • Ability to prioritise and multitask.
  • Child centred approach.
  • Ability to mobilise through own or public transport to visit families in their homes.
