Carers Trust Hillingdon

Supported Transition Lead Officer
Post Start Date: As soon as possible
Closing date: 01/02/2021
Closing time: 9:00 AM

Contract: Full-time, 36 hours per week
Salary: £26,775 per annum

We are offering an exciting new opportunity for an experienced youth worker to join our supportive, high-performing and friendly Young Carers team as a Supported Transition Lead Officer.

The global pandemic has had a significant impact on unpaid carers of all ages and, in particular, on our young adult carers (16-25 years). Job markets have become more challenging, social issues are becoming more prevalent and we are witnessing an exponential rise in low-level mental health issues. We therefore believe there is more we can do to support this cohort of young people.

Our well-established Supported Transition programme offers intensive individual support and training to help young carers make a smoother transition into adulthood and to prevent them from becoming NEET. The service currently supports their personal development and provides a range of training and other opportunities to aid access to volunteering, further education and employment opportunities, as well as a diverse social activity programme, peer and emotional support.

Thanks to a three-year continuation grant from the Henry Smith Foundation, we are looking for a new project lead officer. The successful applicant will be responsible for the strategic development of the project. If you are an ‘ideas’ person, are innovative and self-motivated, have extensive experience of project management and a proven track-record in youth or family work we would love to hear from you!
