At the Eden Academy Trust we specialise in meeting the educational needs of children and young adults with a range of learning disabilities including those who are autistic and those who have physical or sensory needs.
Occupational Therapy
We passionately believe that therapies, including occupational therapy, are a vital part of school life and help our pupils access their education. Our amazing team of occupational therapists help each pupil achieve as much independence as possible within their activities of daily living.
The Role
To support our recent growth, we are looking for therapists to join us. The team has a high level of experience and is eager to support new graduates, new therapists with different levels of experience and welcome more senior therapists with experience. You will join a friendly and supportive team of professionals. Your caseload will be varied with pupils between 4 to 19 years old and you will have the opportunity to work with a wide spectrum of disabilities covering all aspects of occupational therapy.
The team works hand in hand with other therapists, and the school teaching staff, to deliver therapy in our SEN special schools. This will involve: assessment, advice, delivery of treatment sessions and service development. You may also contribute to therapy outreach services for schools outside the Eden Academy Trust.
Regular supervision and opportunities for career development are embedded standards in our team. We also ensure that all therapists have a varied caseload to support their professional and career development.
Applicants should be:
- Qualified and HPCP registered occupational therapists.
- Comfortable to work with children and young people with learning disabilities.
- Passionate about delivering a high standard of care.
- Creative and flexible in their approach.
Applicants for the specialist and senior positions are expected to have experience in paediatric occupational therapy and have transferrable skills applicable to the position they apply for.
