If you are a dynamic, committed and inspirational business manager who wants to make a difference to the lives of young people then we would like to hear from you.

Meadow High School: Achieving together - Every pupil shapes a lesson
Meadow is a special school for students aged 11-19 with complex to moderate learning needs many of whom also are autistic. One of the UK’s largest secondary special schools, we have been consistently rated as a Good school. The school holds a number of national awards including the SEN Specialist Schools Award, the Inclusion Quality Mark Award and the International School Award.

To support the Local Authority we are about to embark on two new development projects. The first is a Satellite Unit based in Harefield village, called 'Northwood Road'. This will house up to 90 Pathway 1 pupils. The next project is a replacement block where our remaining temporary classrooms are situated. Once this is opened  we will gradually expand to have around 300 pupils on the 'Royal Lane' site.

Other in house developments include: the construction of a Community Cafe and its supporting kitchen; the expansion and refurbishment of our Life and Living Skills house and garden; the development of a forest school area, expanded horticulture area, outdoor classroom and outdoor gym. As you can see, things rarely stand still here.

The Governing Body is looking to appoint an inspirational and energetic School Business Manager to work alongside our Senior Leadership Team, leading the school through its new developments and continuing the Ofsted journey from Good to Outstanding status. The correct candidate will be responsible for managing the strategy and operation of the business functions of our school, including financial management with a school budget of £8.5 million, health and safety, human resources, compliance and administration. They will advise on and implement the day-to-day support that enable the school to operate effectively and efficiently, and that allows other members of the leadership team to focus on teaching and learning.

What we want from our candidate:
  • Successful leadership and management experience in a school, or in a relevant field outside education.
  • Expert knowledge of financial management.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with staff and other stakeholders.
