SEN Learning Support Assistant (NVQ Level 2)

Salary information: Scale 2, £19,426 - £19,704 per annum (dependent upon experience)
Hours of work: Monday - Friday, 8.30am – 3.30pm (1 hour unpaid lunch)
Work pattern: 30 hours per week, Term time only (38 weeks)
Contract type: Fixed 1 year - subject to review

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Special Needs Learning Support Assistant to work with our pupils who require additional support to overcome barriers to learning in order to achieve their full potential and raise standards. 

The successful candidate will be required to support and improve learning for a small number of individuals with Education, Health, Care Plans by:
  • Clarifying instructions to enable immediate engagement with task.
  • Help pupils remain on task throughout lessons.
  • Prepare appropriate resources to support the pupils.
  • Be prepared and aware in advance of lesson requirements.
  • To deliver learning and pastoral support to individuals with Education Health Care plans, under the direction of the Assistant Head and SENCO.
  • To give feedback of progress as appropriate.
Experience in working and supporting pupils as well as an NVQ level 2 in Teaching and Learning are essential for this role. You must also be patient, a very good communicator and have a genuine interest in working with children.

Induction, support and on-going training will be provided to ensure the best outcomes for our pupils as well as your success at our school.
