Work pattern: Term-time (39 weeks);  
Hours of work: 32.5 hours per week (which will require flexibility at certain times of the year)
Salary Information: Scale 4; £19,963 - £20,963 per annum + SSA - £1,091 (dependent upon experience)

Meadow High School is a special needs school, which provides education for secondary aged students aged 11-19 years with moderate and complex needs including autism.  The school had received a ‘Good’ grade by OFSTED.

The successful candidate for this varied post will support the Design Technology teacher and pupils in the smooth running of the DT department. The main responsibilities include supporting students in the classroom, preparing materials to help their learning and using ICT to create resources and orders. This is a rewarding role and would be suited to an enthusiastic team player, with a knowledge of working with materials and equipment. The successful candidate needs to have the ability to work flexibly and meet deadlines.

Applicants should have:
  • Hold (or working towards) an NVQ 3 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualification (2 A-Levels) or experience. (Essential)
  • Up-to-date training on workshop equipment such as bandsaws, circular saws and pillar drills. (Desirable)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. (Essential)
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills, with attention for detail. (Essential)
  • Working knowledge of relevant Health and Safety policies/codes of practice/legislation. (Desirable)
  • A proactive team player. (Essential)
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and to follow the child protection procedures detailed in the School’s safeguarding policy. (Essential)
  • Contribute positively to the overall ethos, objectives and aims of the School. (Essential)
