Are you looking for a challenging but highly rewarding post in a unique special education Setting?
Sunshine House Specialist Setting for blind and visually impaired learners is looking to appoint a remarkable Reception Assistant to join our office team. This role is perfect for a smiley professional who approaches challenges with great dynamism but also applies thorough attention to detail to their work.
Salary information: Scale 3, £19,392 - £19,743 per annum - actual (£22,575 - £22,983 FTE);
Working hours: 36 hours per week, 39 weeks of the year.
Sunshine House is a most welcoming and highly specialised setting, catering specifically for blind and visually-impaired learners with additional complex needs, aged 3-14 years old. We have recently joined the Eden Academy as part of Grangewood and Moorcroft schools, having worked in close collaboration with this multi-academy trust for many years. Over the next few years, we are preparing to create a new all-through special school for learners up to 19 years of age.
Parents and professionals know our setting by the warm welcome they receive and knowing they are well supported and valued during any visit. They quickly feel at ease, knowing they belong as part of our extended school community. As the first point of contact for many visitors, you will be in prime position to create this feeling and welcome them to our exciting and inspiring learning environment or deal with their query with care. At the same time, we are sure that you will soon feel part of a nurturing school team with further support from a network of like-minded colleagues in similar roles at sites within in the academy.
You will work alongside the office team to provide effective administration support across the educational setting, liasing internally with key staff on site, with central teams or other schools in our special school academy network, or with a wide range of professionals involved in the learning and care of our pupils. This requires diligence and thoroughness in the accurate completion of processes, complimented with softer skills in empathy and discretion to deal with incoming queries and dealing with sensitive data.
Like our pupils our setting is impossible to fully describe in words. Due to the unique setting that Sunshine House offers, visits to the school are strongly encouraged prior to applying for this role. Contact the school office on 01923 822538 to arrange a tour and find out first-hand what this role entails in our very special setting.
There is potential for real career progression for the right candidates and always opportunities for further learning.
