Premises Support Officer

Salary information: Scale 4, £29,346 - £30,630 per annum (depending on experience)
Work pattern: 36 hours per week, 52 weeks per year with annual leave to be taken during school holidays
Work hours: Monday to Friday, 7.15am to 4.00pm, (These hours of work will include unpaid breaks, 4 days of 1.75 hour breaks and 1 day with a 1.5 hour break. To be agreed.)
Start date: ASAP

We are seeking to appoint a flexible, enthusiastic and motivated Premises Support Officer to provide an effective maintenance service for the school, ensuring that the school provides a clean and secure environment for its pupils. Like all members of staff, the Premises Support Officer will offer the children an excellent model of good relationships, attitudes and behaviour. You will work under the direction of the senior leaders.

We are looking for:
  • Enthusiastic and motivated candidates.
  • Previous experience of premises work in schools and health and safety.
  • Awareness of child protection and safeguarding children.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with pupils, staff, parents/carers, drivers, contractors, delivery drivers and members of the public.
  • A range of skills in general maintenance and repair work to carry out various site maintenance duties for both the buildings and grounds.
  • Knowledge of H&S regulations, using cleaning equipment & tools, COSHH materials.
  • Candidates who can meet the physical demands of the post.
  • Computer skills & smart phone use for emails & job list updates.
  • A full, clean valid driving licence is preferred.

The role will require some flexibility on working hours, for out of hours emergencies and during school events. Notice will be given in advance of any school events.
