Payroll Officer
Contract type: Permanent
Location: Across both Meadow High School sites; Royal Lane (Hillingdon) & Northwood Road (Harefield Village).
Salary information: Scale 4, £15,263 - £15,929 per annum (dependent upon experience) + Special Schools Allowance, £775 per annum
Work pattern: 20 hours per week, Term time + 5 training days + 2 weeks to be worked during the school holidays (41 weeks). This will be discussed further with shortlisted candidates during the interview process.

Meadow High School is a special needs school for students aged 11-19 with complex to moderate learning needs many of whom also are autistic. One of the UK’s largest secondary special schools, we have been consistently rated as a Good school. The school holds a number of national awards including the SEN Specialist Schools Award, the Inclusion Quality Mark Award and the International School Award.
Due to our expanding school and move towards a split site, we are now looking for a Payroll Officer to play a key role in ensuring the smooth, effective and efficient administration of payroll. The Payroll Officer will work collaboratively with external providers and internal teams, ensuring all payroll transactions are accurate, compliant, and processed on time, meeting all legislative requirements.
To support the Local Authority we are expanding further with a new development project. This is an additional site based in Harefield, called 'Northwood Road'. This will house up to 100 Pathway 1 pupils and should be ready for us to occupy in September 2026. This position will be centrally based at our Royal Lane, Hillingdon site with the requirement of adhoc visits to our Northwood Road, Harefield Village site.
Ideal candidates will have:
- Maths & English and relevant qualifications to NVQ Level 2. (Essential)
- Previous experience of payroll processing. (Essential)
- Previous experience of working in a school environment. (Desirable)
- A sound knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel. (Essential)
- Knowledge, understanding and ability to operate a Payroll System Management. (Essential).
- Strong, clear and effective communication skills with staff and other stakeholders. (Essential)
