We require 6 Level 2 Teaching Assistants to work with students with SEN and challenging behaviour and/or severe and complex learning difficulties.
We have a choice of contracts available, 32.5 hours per week, 30 hours per week or 27.5 hours per week, term time only + 5 training days.
Due to our expanding roll and the changing needs of our students, an opportunity has arisen for a number of Level 2 Teaching Assistants to join our dedicated team of staff. We are particularly interested in people who have experience of working with young people with ASD and complex learning difficulties.
Meadow High School is a special needs school, which provides education for secondary aged students aged 11-19 years with moderate and complex needs including challenging behaviour and autism. The post involves working alongside teachers, supporting pupils' learning environment and personal care. Energy, fitness and enthusiasm to work with these pupils is required. Induction and training including Sign along and Team Teach, will be given for this rewarding job, which offers the chance to progress. The school has received a good OFSTED report for the quality of the teaching.
To support the Local Authority we are expanding further with two new development projects. The first is a replacement block where our remaining temporary classrooms are situated. Once this is opened in September 2025, we will gradually expand to have around 290 pupils on the 'Royal Lane' site. The next project is a Satellite Unit based in Harefield village, called 'Northwood Road'. This will house up to 100 Pathway 1 pupils and should be ready for us to occupy in Autumn 2026. This role will initially be based at our Royal Lane site and relocated to Northwood Road, Harefield. This will be discussed with shortlisted candidates during the interview process.
Applicants should have:
- NVQ 2 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualifications (GCSE’s) or experience.
- A sound knowledge of Literacy and Numeracy (assessed at interview, see below for further details).
- A desire for working with students with moderate and complex learning difficulties.
- Previous experience is desirable although consideration will be given to applicants with relevant skills.

- Enthusiasm for supporting children and their learning.
- The ability to work well on your own and as part of a team.
- A positive attitude and sense of humour.
- A willingness to learn new skills.
- A willingness to undertake personal care of pupils.
- The successful applicant must have a high standard of written and spoken English.
- Applicants who are willing to have training to drive the school minibus are especially welcome.
Our assessments will consist of basic maths, including fractions, percentages, and decimal point. The English test will include punctuation, spelling, and comprehension. There will also be an ICT competency test.
