Learning Support Assistant
Salary information: NJC 2 - 4, £19,696 - £20,290 per annum (depending on experience)
Work pattern: 32.5 hours per week, Term Time Only + 3 INSET days (38.6 weeks)
Work hours: Monday to Friday, 8.15am - 3.15pm (30 minutes unpaid lunch break)

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Primary Learning Support Assistant to join our team. You will work closely with teachers to provide tailored support to pupils, ensuring every child achieves their best. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young learners while contributing to a dynamic and caring school community.
The Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate will be passionate about education and committed to supporting the needs of all learners. You will be adaptable, patient, and enthusiastic, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one or small group support for pupils with additional learning needs.
- Assist teachers in planning and delivering engaging lessons that cater to diverse learning styles.
- Support the emotional, social, and educational development of pupils.
- Help create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued.
- Monitor and report on pupil progress to teachers and other relevant staff.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external specialists to support pupil development.
- Assist with classroom organization, resource preparation, and behavior management.
- Foster a safe and respectful environment that encourages pupils to thrive.
Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience working with children in an educational or similar setting (desirable).
- A genuine interest in supporting children with additional needs, including SEN (Special Educational Needs).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and staff.
- An understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices (training provided if needed).
- Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification, are desirable but not essential.
- A proactive, flexible, and team-oriented approach to work.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development.
