Learning Support Assistant (Level 3)
Contract type: Permanent
Hours of work: Monday - Friday, 8.00am - 3.30pm (45 minute unpaid break)
Work pattern: 33.75 hours per week, Term time + 3 INSET days (38.6 weeks)
Salary information: Scale 3, £23,566 - £23,902 per annum (dependent upon experiene)
Start date: 2nd September 2026
Whiteheath Infant and Nursery School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Level 3 Classroom Learning Support Assistant to join our friendly team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children aged 2–7.
About the Role
As an LSA at Whiteheath Infant and Nursery School, you will play a vital role in supporting teaching and learning across the school. You will work flexibly with teachers to deliver high quality support, whether working with a whole class, small groups, or providing 1:1 support to children with additional needs.
In our nursery setting, you will act as a keyworker for a small group of children, building strong relationships with families and supporting each child’s learning journey. This includes completing observations, contributing to assessments, writing keyworker reports, and meeting parents during our twice yearly parents’ evenings.
You will also support children with intimate care needs and may work with pupils who require additional SEN support.
We are looking for someone who:
- Holds a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (essential).
- Has experience working in Early Years/Primary education.
- Can support children with SEN, including on a 1:1 basis.
- Is nurturing, patient, and adaptable with excellent communication skills.
- Can work well as part of a team and independently.
- Holds Paediatric First Aid (desirable).
- Is confident in keyworker responsibilities, including observations, assessments, and parent communication.
