Salary information: Scale 3, £25,398 - £25,760 (Pay Award pending) per annum

Are you a graduate looking for an opportunity to work as a graduate teaching assistant for a year or more to gain valuable experience before starting a teacher training programme in September 2027 or later? 

Deanesfield Primary School is recruiting bright, ambitious people who hope to make teaching their career, and want to gain experience before starting their training. We are a happy school with a proven successful track record of training ‘beginning’ teachers. We are keen to share our ethos and values with the next generation of teaching professionals. 

This is a great opportunity to join a school where you can learn from good and outstanding teachers and get an understanding of what is expected prior to applying for a salaried Apprentice pathway leading to QTS with PGCE status or a full post graduate training course. All our graduates over recent years who have taken this pathway have been successful in accessing a salaried based teacher training route following on from a year’s experience as an assistant. We are hoping to recruit graduates who are keen to gain school experience and plan to start training in September 2027 or later. Our current graduate TA vacancies are for placement in KS1 or KS2.
