EYFS Teaching and Learning Assistant  

Contract type: Temporary contract until July 2025
Work pattern: 21.25 hours per week (5 mornings), Term time only (38 weeks) 
Salary information: Scale 2, point 4, £13,957 per annum  
Start date: January 2025 

The Governors of St Swithun Wells’ Catholic School are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Teaching and Learning Assistant who is driven by high standards of learning and support for children.     

St Swithun Wells’ is a one form entry school with children who have positive attitudes to learning and exemplary behaviour. Our school’s continuous strive for excellence is supported by our school community of parents and governors in addition to our inspiring and dedicated staff team. 

We are looking for a child-centred Teaching Assistant who will: 
  • Have at least Level 2 teaching assistant qualification or the equivalent.
  • Provide whole class support under the direct instruction/guidance of the Class Teacher.
  • Offer individual support to children with additional needs, lead interventions and give small group support.
  • Inspire and motivate children to achieve.
  • Support the Catholic ethos of our school.
  • Have creativity and flexibility and make use of their own initiative when appropriate.
  • Have a great sense of humour and the ability to work as part of a team.
