Salary information: UNQT1 - UNQT6, £26,789 - £39,450 or MPR 1 - 6, £37,870 - £50,474 per annum (depending on experience and qualifications)

Responsible to: AHT and Designated Safeguarding Lead

We are looking for the right person to join our Inclusion Team. We wish to appoint an enthusiastic, organised, flexible and well-motivated person whose primary responsibility will be safeguarding our children. The role will be varied. The Lead DSL will take lead responsibility for safeguarding and child protection across the school, including online safety. They will take part in strategy discussions and inter-agency meetings and contribute to the assessment of children. They will advise and support other members of staff on child welfare, safeguarding and child protection matters, and liaise with relevant agencies such as the local authority and police. Direct work with children will also form a key part of this role.

What we offer you:

  • Ongoing training and support from our very experienced Assistant Head and DSL; initially this will involve shadowing, working towards assuming lead responsibility with at least weekly coaching sessions (more frequently if the caseload requires this).
  • Termly support from a counselling Assistant Psychologist. This can become half termly if the caseload requires.
  • Access to our staff SAS Wellbeing Services, which include 24/7 GP phone line.
  • Applicants must have safeguarding experience with excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • We require an understanding, empathetic practitioner who ensures that our children remain at the centre of all decision making.
  • Rabbsfarm is committed to safeguarding and so the successful candidate would have to undergo an enhanced DBS check including the barring list.
