Contract: Permanent
Salary information: SO1, £4,424 - £4,534 per annum (dependent on experience) 
Work pattern: A minimum of 200 hours per annum, Term time only (38 weeks)
Reporting and accountable to: The Governing Board of Meadow High School

Meadow High School is a special needs school which provides education for secondary aged students aged 11-19 years with complex and moderate learning difficulties including ASD, challenging behaviour and autism, with 284 on roll (September 2024).

We are seeking to appoint a Clerk to the Board of Governors. The board has an essential role in the continuing success and development of our school and as the Clerk you will be liaising with the Chair, Governors and Headteacher in dealing with administration and advising the Board on procedural issues of governance.

You will be required to collate and share agendas, take accurate notes and produce accurate minutes for meetings (approximately 2 a month). A key aspect of the role is ensuring the Governors information on the schools website is accurate and up to date and keeping track of policies that are due for review. The post will involve some evening work and there will be times you will be required to be available during the day. You will require excellent keyboard skills. The ability to maintain confidentiality is essential. 

You will be is responsible for:
  • Ensuring the effective continuity of the governing board’s legal business;
  • Record management for the school;
  • Managing all governing board business in accordance with national statutory duties and legislation, academy trust guidance and protocols.
