We require a full time Classroom Teacher to work with students with moderate and complex learning difficulties.

Meadow High School is a large and inclusive secondary school catering to pupils with a wide range of Special Educational Needs, including complex needs and autism. We are seeking one passionate, resilient, and enthusiastic Class Teacher to join our school community. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a school that works collaboratively to empower our pupils with lifelong skills and enables our young people to reach the highest levels of independence in adult life.   

To support the Local Authority we are expanding further with two new development projects. The first is a replacement block where our remaining temporary classrooms are situated. Once this is opened in September 2025, we will gradually expand to have around 300 pupils on the ‘Royal Lane’ site. The next project is a Satellite Unit based in Harefield village, called ‘Northwood Road’. This will house up to 100 Key Stage 3 and 4 Pathway 1 pupils and should be ready for us to occupy in the 2025-26 academic year.

Please note: This role will initially be based at our Royal Lane site and is likely to be relocated to Northwood Road, Harefield.

We are looking for applicants who holds Qualified Teacher Status and preferably has experience in an SEN setting or working with young people who have learning disabilities. Candidates with UPS will need to demonstrate how they could continue to offer a whole school impact.  

The successful applicants will also be a form tutor to a tutor group and will be required to write and conduct Annual Reviews of their tutor group’s EHCPs as well as monitor pupils progress against the EHCP outcomes. 

Ideal candidates will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status.
  • Experience working in an SEN setting (preferred but not essential – training and support will be provided).
  • A positive attitude, patience, and strong interpersonal skills.
  • An ability to teach across a range of subjects.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Be flexible and adaptable.
  • A passion for teaching pupils with SEN.
  • A commitment to an inclusive environment and education to learners with additional needs.
  • A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection (training will be provided).
