Are you aspiring to develop yourself further as a teacher? Would you like to come and work in a school that will invest in your professional development and support you in fulfilling your full potential?
At Whitehall Infant School, we are a learning-centred school who place the learning and wellbeing of our pupils (and staff!) at the heart of everything we do.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate teacher to come and work in our forward-thinking school.
Our school:
- Happy children who are keen to please their teachers and use their ‘Learning Powers’!
- An inclusive and friendly atmosphere.
- A multi-cultural school with a strong sense of community.
- Good OFSTED rating (Mar 2019).
- Refurbished classrooms that are bright, airy and well resourced.
- We are a 5 star school with a F.R.E.S.H approach (Family, Respect, Excellence, Safe & Happy).
We can offer:
- The opportunity to work in a school which has developed an innovative approach to Teaching for Mastery in Mathematics and has links with the NCETM Maths Hub.
- The opportunity to work within a Read Write Inc school where you will receive full training in the Read Write Inc or Literacy and Language approach (specialism depending on year group), followed by ongoing training and support in these programmes.
- Links with local good schools as part of our QUEST partnership who are committed to providing high quality CPD and opportunities across our schools.
- Training opportunities with universities and local teaching schools.
- The opportunity to take on a coordinator role which builds upon your expertise or preferred subjects, with training and development opportunities linked to this.
Our workload promise:
- Modified marking arrangements - we don’t expect teachers to spend all of their time marking books. Teachers at Whitehall Infant School are skilled in providing feedback during the lessons, where it has most impact.
- As a four-form entry school, all teachers in a year group have PPA together and plan collaboratively. Sharing resources and good practice is key to our approach.
- All classes have a Learning Support Assistant. We also have a resource assistant in the school who will undertake photocopying and other tasks so that you and your LSA can focus on the pupils.
- Increased time for Planning, Preparation and Assessment (PPA) at the times when it is most needed.
- Dedicated leadership time for Year Leaders and subject coordinators.
We would love for you to come and visit us to find out more about working at Whitehall Infant School.
