Assistant Caretaker and Handyperson

Salary information: Scale 4, £20,379 - £21,270 per annum (dependent on experience)
Work hours: Split shift pattern for 6.30am - 9.30am and 4pm - 6pm
Work pattern: 25 hours per week, All year round (52 weeks)
Start date: April 2025 (there can be some flexibility on a start date for the right candidate)
Contract type: Part time, Permanent

Lady Bankes Primary School is looking to appoint an Assistant Caretaker/Handyperson to join our site staff team. We occupy a beautiful two storey Grade II listed building, with a large outside space that includes two playgrounds and a sports field. We are looking for someone to help maintain and look after this wonderful old building and work with our very experienced Site Manager and Caretaker. This role will be busy and varied and does require someone who doesn’t mind early mornings! If you believe you are the right person for this role we would love to hear from you.

  • Is practical and able to turn their hand to the various tasks maintaining a large school like ours requires.
  • Has the relevant experience needed for this role and is able to provide high quality support as part of the site team.
